The six-star wanted level is confirmed for GTA 6, absent since GTA V. Here's what the Extended Look revealed about how heat builds and what it looks like at four versus six stars.
Six stars are back. GTA V ran a different wanted model — GTA 6 returns to the classic six-star scale, confirmed in the Extended Look.
What the Footage Showed
The reveal includes a shootout-and-chase sequence that shows both ends of the scale: a glimpse of what a four-star wanted level plays like, and a separate look at the very top — six stars, full heat, police treating you like the priority target you are.
Escapes shown in the footage include shooting out tyres to stop pursuing cars, taking cover during in-car gunfights, and using the environment — traffic, side streets, water — to break line of sight. None of that is new to the series, but the six-star ceiling changes how long you need to survive it.
What This Means Going In
If you've only played GTA V, the top of GTA 6's wanted scale is going to feel far more dangerous than anything V ever threw at you post-launch. Budget for it — this isn't a system Rockstar is bringing back for nostalgia; it's shown on-screen doing real work in a heist getaway.
