Dazed's GTA 6 exclusive just dropped: new Jason and Lucia photos, a real magazine cover, and on-record quotes from Rockstar's own creative team. Here's everything in it.
Dazed Just Got the Exclusive
Dazed dropped a full GTA 6 exclusive today, and it's not a leak. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the cover stars of Dazed's Autumn 2026 "New Idols" issue, their first print magazine cover anywhere. Writer Thom Waite got real access: interviews with Rockstar's own creative leads, on the record, names attached.
That's the headline here. After a week of leaked clips and Rockstar's own statement addressing them, this is Rockstar choosing what to show and who to show it through. Catch up on Rockstar's statement on the leaks if you missed it.
The Fashion Is Doing Real Work
Stylist Jillian Carr built what she calls a "fashion ecosystem" for Leonida, in-universe designer labels and all. "Vice City is built around vanity," Carr told Dazed. "Between social media, celebrity culture and a constant flow of tourists, appearances carry significant weight, and trend cycles turn over quickly."
The photo set backs that up. Lucia wears an archive dress by Ferruccio Tucci. Jason's in a Nola archive jacket over a This/That top with custom Caliber jewelry. Boobie Ike gets a Blagueurs shirt. Every credit reads like a real fashion week lineup, except the brands only exist in Leonida.

Bonnie and Clyde, For Real This Time
Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's SVP of narrative, called it straight: "a Bonnie and Clyde-type narrative," with intimate cutscenes between Jason and Lucia built into the story, not bolted on. This is GTA's first mainline game with a playable female lead, and Rockstar's framing her as an equal, not a sidekick.
The supporting cast got real shape too. Brian Heder is old-school drug running. Cal Hampton is the conspiracy guy in the crew. Raul Bautista is a suave bank robber. Boobie Ike runs Jack of Hearts, the strip club and music studio. Dre'Quan Priest oversees the studio side, young and opportunistic. Real Dimez is the rising artist whose whole career you'll apparently track through the in-game social feed.
The Scale Is the Actual Story
Rob Nelson, head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North, didn't dodge the pressure question: "I don't know that any amount of external pressure could compare with the pressure we put on ourselves as a team." He also said the team's doubled in size since Red Dead Redemption 2.
A few numbers from the piece that put that in perspective: 50+ real street artists hired for in-game murals, a professional race-car driver on the vehicle handling team, a dedicated LA office just for pedestrian NPC work, and a research team that's been embedded in Miami for a decade. Art director Jamie-Lee Lloyd said that fieldwork is what shaped "the visual markers and nuances that define the identities we wanted to represent."
13 years since GTA V. That's the number that makes the rest of this make sense.
Why This Lands Right Now
This is a welcome surprise. We're less than 24 hours from Rockstar's Extended Look premiering on Netflix, and instead of more leak fallout, we get Rockstar handing a real exclusive to a real outlet, on their own terms.
