Rockstar's official Leonida map is free to download on Nov 19 at rockstargames.com/VI. The $0.99 physical poster arrives shortly after launch.
Rockstar confirmed two ways to get the official Leonida map before you ever boot GTA 6: a free printable download at rockstargames.com/VI on November 19, and a $0.99 double-sided physical poster from the Rockstar Store shortly after launch.
That's the short version. Here's what's confirmed and what's still missing.
What Rockstar Actually Announced
The November 3 Newswire post , the same one confirming pre-load begins November 10 , is where this became official. Two products, two price points.
First: a free digital download. Launch day, Rockstar adds a printable GTA VI cover art poster and a printable Leonida map to its official site. You go to rockstargames.com/VI, download them, print them. Done.
Second: the physical poster. Double-sided , cover art front, full Leonida map back. Available from the Rockstar Store shortly after launch. $0.99 standalone. Free if you're already buying something from the store.
As of November 3, the physical poster has no product page, no product name, and no direct store link. Rockstar said "shortly after launch" and nothing more specific.
Every Official Way to Get the GTA 6 Map
Four options exist. They are not interchangeable.
1. Free printable download (rockstargames.com/VI, Nov 19). Rockstar's November 3 Newswire post confirmed a printable GTA VI cover art poster and a printable Leonida map go live on the official site at launch. No purchase required. Zero friction.
2. $0.99 physical poster from the Rockstar Store. Double-sided , cover art on one side, full Leonida map on the other. Arrives in the Rockstar Store shortly after launch. $0.99 standalone, or free with any Rockstar Store purchase. No store page exists yet as of November 3. Poster dimensions, shipping regions, and the minimum spend for the free-gift option are all unconfirmed.
3. Double-sided souvenir poster inside the $399.99 Goodtime State - Vice City Collection. This is a separate product from the $0.99 poster. The Vice City Collection box is a pre-order, limited to one per person, ships from November 19, and does not include the game. Its souvenir poster has Macca the Gator art on the front and the full Leonida map on the back. If you pre-ordered the collection, you're already getting a physical Leonida map in that box.
4. The in-game map itself. Once you're in Leonida, the map is there. No download, no purchase, no waiting on a store listing.
One earlier rumor: a GameStop in-store sign advertised a "Collector's Map" with physical pre-orders. Rockstar never confirmed it. Treat it as unverified until Rockstar says otherwise.
The Six Regions of Leonida
Rockstar's "Only in Leonida" page names six regions. Here's what's confirmed for each , and where the gaps are.
Vice City. The neon-soaked city at the heart of the state. Rockstar has shown more of Vice City than anywhere else in Leonida , trailers establish it as a dense coastal urban environment. Vice City alone is confirmed to be 2x the size of Los Santos, per Rob Nelson's comments to TGG during their July 2026 Rockstar North visit.
Leonida Keys. The island chain stretching south of the mainland. Trailers show water, bridges, and a pace that's clearly different from the city. The Keys are their own geography , expect the free map download on November 19 to show how far they extend.
Grassrivers. The wetlands region. Rockstar's Only in Leonida page places it as distinct terrain from both the city and the Keys. Specific landmarks: check the official map when it drops November 19.
Port Gellhorn. Named on the Only in Leonida page. No landmark detail confirmed by Rockstar beyond the name and its place in the state's geography. The November 19 map will show where it sits relative to Vice City.
Ambrosia. Another named region from the Only in Leonida page. Rockstar has not published specific landmark or activity details for Ambrosia. It's on the map , what's in it becomes clearer November 19.
Mount Kalaga. The sixth named region. The name suggests elevation and terrain unlike the coastal areas. Rockstar hasn't confirmed what's there beyond the name. For a full breakdown of confirmed locations across all six regions, see our [GTA 6 Leonida locations guide][INTERNAL_LINK:gta-6-leonida-locations-guide].
How Big Is the GTA 6 Map
Size matters here, because the map is the main draw.
Rob Nelson confirmed to TGG during their July 13, 2026 visit to Rockstar North that the full Leonida map is 2x the size of GTA 5 and 3x the size of Red Dead Redemption 2. Vice City alone is 2x the size of Los Santos. Vice City and its surrounds come in at 11x Los Santos and surrounds. Those figures are from Nelson directly, published by TGG on August 27, 2026.
For the Game Informer cover story published September 29, 2026, Rockstar's art director Aaron Garbut said the map is the largest Rockstar has built by some degree. Narrative SVP Rupert Humphries added that the story won't take players everywhere , the intention is for players to explore on their own terms.
Edge magazine, via Insider Gaming, reports the map is roughly twice the size of GTA 5's , consistent with what Nelson confirmed to TGG. PC Gamer has reported it's close to Rockstar's last three games' maps combined in total area, with an order of magnitude more interiors , treat that as reported, not confirmed by Rockstar.
No official square-mile figure exists. Any specific acreage you see online is a fan estimate, not a Rockstar stat. For the full breakdown of what Nelson confirmed during the Rockstar North visit, see our [map size breakdown][INTERNAL_LINK:gta-6-criminal-profile-map-size-tgg-rockstar-north-exclusive].
Six Regions, One State
Rockstar's own "Only in Leonida" page names six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga.
The six-region structure gives you a rough sense of the geography before you ever load the game. Vice City is the urban core. Leonida Keys is the southern island chain. Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn sit further inland and north. Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga push into terrain that looks nothing like Los Santos.
Printing the Free Map
The free Leonida map is a digital download, so a home printer works for a quick reference copy on launch day. If you want something larger and more readable, a print shop can handle a large-format poster from the same file.
Rockstar hasn't published the file dimensions yet. Until the download goes live on November 19, there's no way to know the exact resolution or aspect ratio. Download the file on launch day, confirm the dimensions, then send it to a print shop , don't guess at paper size.
The $399.99 Vice City Collection Has a Different Poster
Worth separating clearly , these two products are easy to conflate.
The "Goodtime State - Vice City Collection" is a $399.99 collector's box , pre-order only, one per person, ships from November 19, game not included. It contains its own Double-Sided Souvenir Poster: Macca the Gator art on the front, full Leonida map on the back.
That poster and the $0.99 Rockstar Store poster are not the same product. Different packaging, different price tier, different artwork on the front. Rockstar hasn't shown what the $0.99 poster looks like , its front-side artwork is unconfirmed.
If you pre-ordered the Vice City Collection, you're getting a Leonida map in that box. If you didn't, the $0.99 poster is your physical option , once it goes live. For a full rundown of what's in the collection box and current Rockstar Store pricing, see our [Rockstar Store merch breakdown][INTERNAL_LINK:gta-6-vice-city-merch-rockstar-store-prices-stock].
Free vs. $0.99 vs. $399.99 , The Actual Comparison
| Option | Price | Format | When Available | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Digital printable | Free | PDF / printable download | November 19 | rockstargames.com/VI |
| Physical poster | $0.99 | Double-sided poster | Shortly after launch | No store page yet as of Nov 3 |
| Physical poster (gift) | Free | Double-sided poster | Shortly after launch | With any Rockstar Store purchase |
| Vice City Collection poster | Included in $399.99 box | Double-sided souvenir poster | Ships from Nov 19 | Different product , Macca front, Leonida map back |
The free digital version has zero friction. Print it at home on launch day, done. The $0.99 physical poster is the cleaner option if you want something readable without squinting at a home printout , but you're waiting on Rockstar to open that listing.
The DecodedSix Interactive Map
Printed maps are useful. An interactive map is more useful.
We're building our own interactive GTA 6 map of Leonida , every region, every location, collectibles, secrets, and anything else players surface once the game is out. It lives at our interactive GTA 6 map. As soon as we have access and verified data, we'll start uploading locations and keep it updated as the community finds things. It's a living map, not a static poster , every new discovery gets added, nothing goes stale.
Sign up on the site if you want to know the moment it goes live. We'll notify you directly.
What's Still Unknown
Rockstar confirmed the products exist. Everything else about the physical poster is unconfirmed.
Shipping cost , unconfirmed. Which regions or countries the Rockstar Store ships to , unconfirmed. Per-customer limit , unconfirmed. Poster dimensions , unconfirmed. Minimum spend for the free-gift option , unconfirmed. What the front of the $0.99 poster actually looks like , unconfirmed, Rockstar hasn't shown it.
"Shortly after launch" is deliberately vague. That could mean days. It could mean weeks. There's no product page to monitor yet.
For pre-load timing and what else Rockstar confirmed in the November 3 Newswire post, see our [GTA 6 file size and pre-load breakdown][INTERNAL_LINK:gta-6-file-size-212gb-preload-november-10].
